Craftsman III

The Craftsman III (Mechanical) is accountable to the Mechanical Supervisor and is tasked with completing assigned duties pertaining to the repair and maintenance of fixed and rotating mechanical equipment.

JOB SUMMARY: The Craftsman III (Mechanical) is accountable to the Mechanical Supervisor and is tasked with completing assigned duties pertaining to the repair and maintenance of fixed and rotating mechanical equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Completes routine repairs and overhaul on specified equipment.
• Under supervision, undertakes assigned repairs of plant and equipment.
• Knocks down and/or re-assembles equipment for inspection and repairs.
• Read schematic diagrams and troubleshoot equipment performance on the basis of the schematic diagrams.
• Installs, maintains and repairs all mechanical and related equipment (boilers, compressors, pumps).
• Fits, adjusts, assembles and lubricates equipment as assigned.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas by performing all necessary house-keeping functions in accordance with health and safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as may be required by the job function.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Craftsman Certificate or Completion of Apprenticeship Training Programme (Mechanical).
• Five (5) years’ experience in a similar mechanical maintenance environment.
• Good written and verbal skills; ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with others in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Managers/Supervisors.
• Working knowledge of GMP, Food Safety and HACCP guidelines
• Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA).
