Counter Sales Representative

A leading distributor of heavy equipment and machine lubricants, located in Kingston, is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Counter Sales Representative to join their Parts & Service Sales team. If you have a passion for customer service, sales, and building long-term relationships, we want to hear from you!

Position Objective:

To sell spare parts to customers, ensuring proper follow-up, adherence to internal policies, and the building of long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist walk-in customers by identifying their needs and recommending appropriate spare parts.
  • Process customer orders via phone, mail, or fax, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Sell spare parts available in-store and log any lost sales for further analysis.
  • Provide support to the sales team by assisting with quotations, parts location, and inventory management.
  • Prepare reports on pending orders and follow up with the Operations and Logistics department to ensure timely delivery.
  • Handle order returns in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide inventory improvement suggestions based on customer needs and sales trends.
  • Prepare and follow up on spare parts quotations, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collect and maintain customer data related to spare parts purchases.
  • Clear the system of unclaimed quotations and dispatches.
  • Route customer claims to the appropriate parties for resolution.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.

Qualifications:

  • Academic Background: Post-secondary education or technical training in mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a customer service or administrative role.
  • Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
