The position holder assists with developing and subsequently manages and implements strategic initiatives, project plans and processes, leverages leadership, diplomacy, and communication skills with all partners and stakeholders towards the objectives and key milestones.

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this function successfully, the position holder must:

Strategic 

 

  • Captures and analyses industry trends, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance, delivers data-driven insights to support recommended actionable strategic initiatives/direction and provides strategy communication to various audiences.

 

  • Works with the CEO in developing and communicating the strategic plan across the organisation to help secure the commitment for cross-company efforts; fully leveraging and aligning the Company’s assets and ensure operational alignment with strategy.

 

  • Develops/recommends to the CEO appropriate Company policies in line with international industry compliance and in keeping with the functional responsibilities of the position.

 

  • Analyses and documents Partners, Affiliates and Competitors' service lines with an aim to assess feasibility in local markets.

 

  • Works directly with key Senior executives to coordinate corporate-led strategic planning and related deliverables.

 

  • Attends Board meetings as required in support of recommended strategic initiatives.

 Project Management 

 

  • Defines project objectives, schedule, resource requirements, budget, and deliverables in support of business goals established by the CEO.

 

  • Creates and manages project budgets to keep projects on budget, on time and department goals satisfied.

 

  • Oversees the project management process from conception through completion and final delivery on multiple projects concurrently.

 

  • Builds and grows business relationships vital to the success of the project by developing a network of key contacts in the/industry and keeping up-to-date with / industry trends.

 Research & Marketing 

 

  • Develops and coordinates strategic marketing initiatives and activities with the sales, financial, corporate services and corporate departments.

 

  • Develops and manages the marketing budget.

 

  • Creates branded advertising/marketing/promotional campaigns by coordinating and collating content, including but not limited to Trade Shows, Sponsorships, Business Organisations, Publications, Article writing, Newsletters, etc.

 

  • Creates, maintains and strengthens the organisation’s overall brand through all media avenues, by keeping abreast of marketing strategies and trends, and by conducting market surveys (Debtors/Clients) and provide insight in order to enhance the customer-service experience.

 

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing initiatives for an entire organization (or lines of business and brands within an organization) in order to attract potential customers and retain existing ones.

 

  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the market; identifies needs for new products and services and makes recommendations to Management.

 Corporate Administration 

 

  • Assists with and attends Executive and subcommittee meetings, including organising logistics, participating, follow up and minutes.

 

  • Develops and implements a communications strategy for the Company to include elements of web, social, print, and visual media. Improves and maintains the website to ensure accessibility of information and resources.

 

  • Strategically manages the CEO’s business calendar, including scheduling internal and external meetings and appointments, booking meeting rooms, notifying meeting participants and preparing meeting agendas.

 

  • Researches, plans and/or prepares business presentations, inclusive of but not limited to, presentations, spread sheets and departmental reports for Executive and Board meetings.

 

  • Responsible for the administrative functions attached to the office of the CEO.

 

  • Serve as a recording secretary at company meetings including  Executive and Board meetings.

 

  • Serve as the Lead for the Events Committee, with guidance from the Group Manager, Corporate Services, to ensure all company events are planned, coordinated and executed in line with company standards.

 

  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

 Education and Experience

 

  • A degree in Business Management, Marketing, Corporate Communications or related Social Science discipline from a recognised, accredited institution

 

  • Project Management certification would be considered an asset

 

  • Working knowledge of traditional and digital marketing/advertising principles and techniques, with a sound understanding of market research and data analysis methodology as well as experience with social media (such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter) and web analytics.

 

  • Three (3) to five (5) years working experience in a similar capacity

 

  • Experience in a unionised environment would be considered an asset

 

  • Proven experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
