Corporate Director, Resort Engineering
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operations of all engineering departments within the Sandals Group to ensure the protection, maintenance, and care of the resort buildings and infrastructure so that every guest experience is maximized. He/she provides leadership, devises, and implements strategic long-term solutions to foster the continued efficiency and development of the Engineering division of Sandals Resorts International. Also responsible for achieving KPIs established for this position.
Specific requirements/duties of the position include:
- Assessing the standards and quality of maintenance and engineering for all the properties, inclusive of MEP, structures and aesthetics
- Liaising closely with the Regional Engineers, Regional Project Managers and Senior Project Managers regarding appropriate initiation and implementation of new projects and systems
- Providing technical assessment, advice and approval on purchase requests and system designs
- Ability to manage projects simultaneously across multiple properties/regions.
- Conducting periodic audits of the maintenance operations within the properties, providing evaluations, making recommendations, and implementing programs for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or professional accredited certification.
- At least 10 years’ experience at the Vice President or Corporate Director of Technical Services, Engineering, and Projects level.
- International experience with overall responsibility of engineering departments for 20 or more properties in multiple jurisdictions.
- Certified Engineering Operations Executive (CEOE), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), and Certified Energy Manager (CEM) would be favourable.
- Strong experience in refurbishing F&B and complete room projects across multiple hotels.
- Strong understanding of operational and capital expenditure budgets.
