The Business Continuity Coordinator works closely with the Business Continuity Manager to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of business continuity policies, procedures and protocols that support business resilience and continuity.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supporting our organization's Business Continuity and disaster recovery plans. The Business Continuity Coordinator works closely with the Business Continuity Manager to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of business continuity policies, procedures and protocols that support business resilience and continuity. 

EDUCATION/SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES

  1. Bachelor's degree in Management or Business Administration, or related field.
  2. The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  4. Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management.
  5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and lead cross-functional teams during emergencies.

EXPERIENCE/LEARNED DISCIPLINE

  1. At least three (3) years related experience within a similar position.
  2. Experience in Risk Management and Business Continuity would be an asset
  3. Knowledge of development and implementation of Business Processes and Plans.
  4. Knowledge of Disaster Preparedness, and supporting incident response efforts.
  5. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  6. Well-developed interpersonal skills, self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
  7. Computer literacy and demonstrated proficiency using all Microsoft Office applications.

ELEMENTS OF MAJOR DUTIES

  1. Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance the organization's business continuity strategy, policies, and procedures.
  2. Ensure that business continuity plans are updated regularly to reflect changes in the organization's operations, technology, and regulatory requirements.
  3. Conduct disaster preparedness assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats to business operations and assess their potential impact.
    1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement risk management measures, such as redundant systems, data backups, and emergency response protocols and disaster preparedness measures.
    2. Assist with the planning of comprehensive exercises, simulations, and drills to validate the organization's response and recovery capabilities to evaluate the effectiveness of business continuity plans and disaster preparedness activities.
    3. Assist with the planning, coordinating and conduct training sessions for employees, ensuring they are aware of emergency response procedures and their roles during a crisis.
    4. Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to business continuity and disaster preparedness.
    5. Facilitate post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement in the organization's response and recovery efforts.
    6. Maintain accurate documentation of business continuity plans, risk assessments, incident reports, and recovery procedures and disaster preparedness documents.
    7. Assist with administrative functions by preparing and monitor purchase requisitions and order stock items through ORACLE.
    8. Performs other duties as assigned.
