Construction Site Manager (Barbados)


Overview: Our client is a reputable organisation based in Barbados that provides collection/distribution 
of recycled construction materials with an emphasis on metals. Due to growth, they are seeking to recruit a proven professional to assist 
in the management of the operation based in Barbados.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the site activity to ensure it complies with commercial regulations inrelation to identity checks, payments and record keeping.
  • Monitor processes and procedures in place and carry out regular inspections ofpremises to ensure good standards.
  • Monitor loads arriving on site to ensure their quality Plan and direct the storage of materials on site.
  • Identify the most appropriate logistics method to move materials to any given destination.
  • Optimise utilisation of all assets on site, including plant, machinery and equipment by monitoring and deploying employees and resources in the most cost effective and efficient way.
  • Protect the site from crime including fraud through constant vigilance,
  • security, enforcing procedures and good housekeeping.
  • Manage all employees, visitors and contractors to ensure site safety in accordance with company policy and good practice.
  • Manage employees with strict adherence to employment legislation.
  • Proactively establish strong and ongoing relationships with the local communities and Authorities.
  • Manage all site-based emergency response, crisis management and accident. management protocols .
  • Effectively manage difficult, challenging, and confrontational situations and people
  • Management and control of site resources such as people, stock, assets, plant and Equipment.
Desired Skills/Experience:

• Minimum BSc/Degree in Management, Operations, or any business-related discipline
• 3 – 5 years in Management role in the construction industry
• Strong leadership skills.
• Knowledge of logistics operations
• Strong commercial awareness
