This position is responsible for the implementation of Transmission and Distribution construction activities within an assigned zone, to include new service connections and transmission and distribution lines construction and modifications.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the implementation of Transmission and Distribution construction activities within an assigned zone, to include new service connections and transmission and distribution lines construction and modifications.

EDUCATION & SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES

  1.  Tertiary diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills. 
  3. Well-developed analytical, administrative and judgment skills.

  EXPERIENCE AND LEARNED DISCIPLINE

  1.  At least three (3) years’ experience in Electric Utility Power Line Construction, of which one (1) year should be associated with Project Implementation.
  2. Basic knowledge of surveying techniques and usage of advanced surveying equipment.
  3. Thorough understanding of JPSCo.’s distribution standards (ES-1300, FM-006 etc.) construction and operational standards and safety practices.
  4. Knowledge of Construction Quality Control Processes.

ELEMENTS OF MAJOR DUTIES

  1. Maintains all construction records for each project.
  2. Provides adequate administrative and technical support for contractors, Field Staff during execution of each project.
  3. Conducts performance evaluation for contractors.
  4. Provide regular end user support and follows-up by responding to questions and requests, job completion advices, commissioning and contractor evaluation and contractor claims verification.
  5. Monitor and assist with the preparation budgets and reports for the new construction and remodeling projects.
  6. Prepare job completion advice, commissioning contractor evaluation.
  7. Provide updates, reports as required, sufficient to keep Project stakeholders abreast of latest project status and issues; creates, maintains, and distributes reports related to projects; communicates established PMO standards and presents changes, updates, and ideas as PMO or industry changes; occasionally modify designs.
  8. The incumbent will be required from time to time to work irregular hours.
