General Job Summary

The Batcher is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient batching of concrete mixtures in compliance with specifications and production schedules. This role involves operating batching equipment, monitoring quality, and maintaining plant safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate batching equipment to produce concrete mixtures per specified formulas.
• Accurately weigh and measure raw materials, including cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures.
• Monitor and adjust controls to ensure the proper consistency, temperature, and volume of concrete.
• Verify batch quality by performing regular checks, including slump, air content, and material proportions.
• Maintain records of batch details and ensure compliance with production standards.
• Report any quality concerns or deviations to the Plant Supervisor.
• Inspect batching equipment daily and perform basic maintenance to ensure proper functioning.
• Notify maintenance staff of any equipment malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Communicate with plant staff, drivers, and customers to coordinate timely delivery of concrete.
• Adjust production schedules to meet changing demands and minimize delays.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure the batching process complies with environmental and regulatory standards.
• Identify and report safety hazards or violations promptly.
• Maintain accurate logs of batches, production data, and inventory levels.
• Prepare and submit daily production and equipment usage reports to management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in batching or construction-related fields is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in concrete batching or a similar role.
• Familiarity with concrete batching systems and equipment.
• Basic understanding of mix designs and material properties.
