Our client, The Light & Power Employees Co-operative Credit Union Ltd, is seeking to recruit a:

Compliance Officer

Duration of contract: 3 years

Reports to: The Board

Major Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing, and managing an effective compliance program.
• Develop and implement policies, templates and procedure to achieve compliance with AML and CFT Guidelines published by the Financial Services Commission and the Money Laundering and Financing Terrorism (Prevention and Control) Act.
• Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them.
• Conducting regular compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Monitoring the credit union’s adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
• Developing corrective action plans for resolving any non-compliant issues

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or related field
• 2-3 years previous experience as a Compliance Officer
• Knowledge of legal requirements and controls e.g. Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
• Experience in a financial institution or similar role
• Certified compliance/AML professional is a plus
