We’re in the market for a Communications Assistant. This is an entry-level position offering an excellent opportunity for someone eager to contribute to a dynamic and creative team within a small not-for-profit organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Communications Coordinator to support the organization's marketing and communications efforts.

What we're looking for

We’re seeking someone who thinks creatively and has the drive to bring fresh ideas to life. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of graphic design, social media trends, tonality, and visual storytelling. You should be comfortable in a collaborative environment, ready to learn, and excited about playing a hands-on role in content creation. Core Responsibilities

  • Design and conceptualise creative, impactful content, in collaboration with the department Coordinator.
  • Responsible for the creation of all graphic work for the organisation.
  • Assists in the community management of social media platforms.
  • Assists in the implementation of approved marketing and communication strategies and programs to drive the overall effectiveness of the organization.
  • Support member relations by responding to member inquiries, providing information, and assisting with member activities.
  • Ensure effective communication of the company's role and activities across both print and electronic media, keeping members, customers, and licensees well-informed.
  • Provide minor logistical support for events, conferences, workshops, and seminars, including liaising with service providers and finalizing event preparations as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Five (5) CXC/GCE O’ Level subjects, including English Language.
  • 3 years’ experience in graphic design and/ graphic design certification.
  • 1-3 years’ experience/ or commensurate qualification in Social Media Management/Communications
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Customer Relations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • The ability to think creatively and innovate
  • Strong graphic design skills.
  • Comfortable using WordPress CMS.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in social media management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on conflict resolution.
