Command Centre Technician

The Command Centre Technician is responsible for receiving, documenting, and initiating responses to incidents and occurrences either reported or detected throughout the facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Acknowledges alarms and dispatches information to personnel as appropriate.
• Manages communications for emergency and non-emergency calls-for-service, to include handling radio dispatch, phone, and email workstations.
• Monitors the facilities via the CCTV surveillance system and initiates appropriate responses to identified events.
• Dispatches Security Officers and emergency response personnel to calls for assistance and emergency situations.
• Notifies, assists, and directs external emergency personnel and internal Emergency Response Teams as necessary.
• Monitors and documents the post staffing on a shift-by-shift basis.
• Supports the organisations badging function and issues admittance passes as requested.
• Ensures that the Command Centre/Technology Supervisor and appropriate security management are apprised of all significant and unusual events in real-time and maintain relevant documentation of the events and actions.
• Investigates reports of incidents and create accurate and timely incident reports, escalating to the appropriate persons, as necessary.
• Acts on all customer service-related calls and either resolves them personally or refers the issues to the appropriate individuals.
• Manages information flow to and from incidents. 
• Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.     

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of Five (5) O’ Levels subjects.
• Certification in Physical or Electronic Security Systems.
• Relevant Network Security certifications will be an asset.
• Firearm Users Employee Certificate (or previously held).
• Precept Holder (or previously held).

Experience

• A minimum of two (2) years’ related experience in the Security Industry/Security Technologies.
• A minimum of two (2) years working with CCTV surveillance systems.
