The Collections Supervisor is responsible for supervising all aspects of the client's activities involving credit given with a strong focus on collecting payments on delinquent accounts.

Collections Supervisor

 

The Collections Supervisor is responsible for supervising all aspects of the client's activities involving credit given with a strong focus on collecting payments on delinquent accounts. Your overall role includes communicating organizational needs, providing guidance, supporting, identifying development needs, and managing the relationship between staff and the organization so that each is successful.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Inputs data and creates spreadsheets showing the progress of the staff’s efforts to collect debts
  • Speaks with individuals who wish to speak with a supervisor
  • Approves and allows settlement and payment options
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in collecting overdue payments 
  • Reviews delinquent account records to determine which customers must be contacted for collection of overdue accounts
  • Organizes collection work load based on the degree and amount of delinquency and assigns accounts to employees for collection
  • Creates letters or approves form letters for use in collection attempts
  • Assists subordinates with collection activities in difficult cases
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of staff in related activities

 

Qualifications

  • Level 3 HEART NTCVET Certification or higher/ASc Degree preferred or 2+ years serving in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience working for two or more years in credit and collections as an agent

Additional requirements:

  • At least 2-years of experience in a similar environment
  • Must be flexible to work any shift assigned
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws governing the collection of debt and the laws as mandated by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

ll applicants should be 18 years or older and must have a valid Government-issued photo ID, TRN & NIS. Successful candidates must be able to furnish a police record and pass an employment background check.
