The Cloud Specialist is responsible for conducting research, developing, implementing, operating and maintaining TSTT’s Cloud environments.
Maintaining TSTT's Cloud environment entails large-scale data migrations, customer onboarding (physical to virtual / virtual to virtual), and advanced inter & hybrid cloud networking. To work on the modernization, consolidation and security of IT infrastructure, automation of workloads, and the pursuit of next-generation innovation for both internal and external customers.
The Cloud Specialist works in tandem with the IT, Business Sales and Emerging Services and Innovation teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company by ensuring cloud performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of thoughtful design and on time deployment while managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines; troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Annual Operations
- Support the creation of an Information Technology Networks and Cloud Operational plan by recommendations based on the analysis of the cloud infrastructure operational data and international information technology trends.
- Manage cloud Life Cycle by the determination of cloud infrastructure requirements, including performing Capacity Management functions (resource re-allocation to pool, firewalls, etc.), incident and problem management functions.
- Support all equipment movements by sign off on same, as well as inspection of final locations, power determinations & infrastructure requirements should installation be done.
- Provide tier 3 support to all cloud-based products by responding to technical issues in a professional and timely manner as per established SLA’s.
- Support data integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of the organization's information assets and identifying and implementing technology solutions to reduce security risks.
Cloud Management
Back-up Fulfilment Process/ Cloud Fulfilment/ Internal Solutions Backup Process
- Support the backup fulfilment process by receipting and reviewing of all back up requests and identifying new solutions / devices to be backed up as well as the configuration of backup interfaces and set RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective); including testing, commissioning and implementation of a monitoring plan.
- Identify new solutions or devices to be virtualized along with resource details for Cloud fulfilment.
- Execute / deploy compliance audit scans against company information management.
Monitoring Process
- Manage the collection of monitoring requirements for each element of new solutions/devices.
- Manage the configuration of information technology interfaces; includes a test and commission monitoring plan with SLA’s and alarm thresholds.
- Tier 1 support to internal customers by troubleshooting and analyzing technical problems and applying scientific methodology to their resolution.
- To prepare detailed analysis of cloud, storage, back-up, server and database problems, carry out business and technical root cause analysis. Design and implement remedial plans.
EDUCATION:
- B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Information Systems, which may include Computing Technology, Networking or Information Management.
EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING:
- A minimum of one (1) year experience in either of the following disciplines:
⮚ Implementing and supporting IT systems which involved the deployment and administration of Hyperconverged or cloud-based Infrastructure.
⮚ Developing, and implementing cloud solutions on either of these cloud environments (Vmware, AWS, Azure, Nutanix, FusionSphere)
⮚ Database management, Systems Administration, Storage, Back-up and Data Recovery management, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics
⮚ Web service management, API (Application programming interfaces), REST (representational state transfer), and RPC (remote procedure call), Unix, Oracle, cloud technology and DC & SDDC environment, Microsoft Active Directory.
OR
- A minimum of three (3-5) years’ people/vendor management experience in the Information Technology field supporting Cloud Infrastructure, IT Systems and Database Administration with at least one (1) of the following industry certifications:

⮚ VMware – VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
⮚ Azure - Azure Solutions Architect Expert
⮚ AWS – AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
⮚ Fusionsphere – HCIE – Cloud Service Solutions Architect
⮚ Nutanix - Nutanix Certified Master - Multicloud Infrastructure
