Clinical Instructor
The Dental Hygiene Clinical Instructor is responsible for delivering a high-quality clinical instruction to the students in the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting courses of study. He/She will ensure that the students acquire the pre-requisite competencies that are mandatory for the practice of dental hygiene and dental nursing/therapy. Additionally, the Dental Hygiene Clinical Instructor will ensure that effective delivery methods are employed and all that students will acquire the required skillset and experience to practice both locally and internationally.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
- B.Sc. Degree in Dental Hygiene or equivalent qualification
- Registered with the Dental Council of Jamaica as an Enrolled Dental Hygienist
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate should possess:
- knowledge of current trends and methodologies in education and dental hygiene
- knowledge of computer-based technology as used in clinical and educational environments including online teaching/learning
- knowledge of dental hygiene regulations and legal issues for practice and education
- knowledge of infection control issues and procedures
- practicing as a Dental Hygienist for over five (5) years
