Job Summary
The incumbent is primarily responsible for the collection of loan payments, day-to-day client care and assisting with operational functions under the supervision of the Senior Accountant, Operations Manager & General Manager.
The key duties of the position are to:
- Process all customer loan payments and file customer receipts.
- Ensure that all cash payments are verified with customers.
- Manage petty cash; prepare payment vouchers, cheques for payment to suppliers and prepare daily Bank lodgments.
- Maintain daily cash limits.
- Perform daily balancing of cash/cheques.
- Assist with the preparation of Audit Confirmations.
- Pull customer payments from bank accounts and POS machine on a timely basis.
- Identify customer payments from the bank account.
- Ensure all bank transactions are posted on a timely basis.
- Greet customers entering the department with a smile and direct those clients to the relevant areas.
- Answer incoming telephone calls in a prompt, polite and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering Policy.
- Maintain knowledge of financing information to act as a resource for incoming calls.
- Respond to general queries and provide quotation to existing and potential clients.
- Ensure that all required documents and deposits are on file, prior to the submission of Letters of Undertaking to be signed.
- Assist with the accurate preparation of Letter of Undertakings and Notices of Lien.
- Ensure that all customer files are properly filed in the cabinets.
- Protect the privacy of our clients through the practice of a clean desk policy.
- Update & maintain credit consent form tracker.
- Maintain copies of Motor Vehicle Registration & Fitness to aid in the timely disbursement of loans.
- Maintain & update the disbursement listing.
- File & maintain proper accounting records.
- Assist with the annual tax & financial audit.
- Provide backup support for any other accounting or clerical positions on an ‘as needed’ basis.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- A minimum of an Associate degree in business administration, Banking and Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
- Four of more years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the banking sector
- Knowledge of loan administration, including preparation and perfection of security documents
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
