Claims Officer

 The Claims Officer will be the first point of contact for all claim-related matters. The incumbent will handle potential claims stemming from incidents or accidents occurring on the highway by the motoring public and incidents or accidents involving JNSHC employees and JNSHC-owned vehicles. He/she will also be responsible for recovering the cost incurred to repair the damage caused to JNSHC-owned vehicles and infrastructure by motor vehicle accidents. 

1. To assist the Senior Commercial Officer in conducting research and studies of applicable laws, rules, regulations, doctrines, principles, or jurisprudence that may aid the company. 

2. Assists in the conduct of fact-finding investigations and recommends appropriate action. 

3. Assist with handling the claims of road operation accidents.

4. Log and file claims information, update and maintain the Claims Database and Claimable Software.

5. To vet claim reports to determine merit, find a swift resolution, and protect the company's interest in all instances.

6. Prepare all legal documents as required by the court and attend court as requested by the company. 

7. Liaise with loss adjusters, accident investigators, and law firms regarding claims (both against JNSHC and against third parties) and update all those claim events. 

8. Keep abreast of legal trends, regulations, and Civil Procedure Rules.

1.  An Associate Degree in Business Administration or Associate Degree in Insurance Studies/Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies and at least six (6) CXC/C.A.P.E applicable passes. 

2. A Certificate in Motor Vehicle Insurance Investigation or a Certificate in Advance Claims or related discipline is a must. 

3. Having years (2) years’ experience in claims management, and claims negotiation in an office and law firm environment. 

4.Knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to the operations of the Toll Road

Applicants must reside in and around the environs of Spanish Town in St. Catherine to Moneague in St. Ann.
