Claims Officer

 

Job Objective:

The Claims Officer is required to settle claims promptly, efficiently, equitably and in accordance with all contract conditions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Red Carpet Customer Service - contacting the claimant and broker and providing regular updates at various points of the claims process.
  • Interviewing Insured/Third party claimants
  • Registering claims
  • Processing payments
  • Handling queries
  • Assessing liability
  • Appointing adjusters
  • Negotiating settlements
  • Setting Reserves
  • Responding to all correspondences within a timely manner
  • Perform monthly reviews of assigned claims

Education:

  • Certificate of Proficiency
  • BDI Certificate or pursing same

Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years experience in the General Insurance Industry 2 of which should be a in a similar position

Personality:

This individual must be self- motivated and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Candidate must be a logical thinker, proactive and responsible. He/she must have strong positive work ethics with the emphasis on Integrity and confidentiality; possess a team player spirit, be friendly, tactful whilst maintaining professionalism and displays energy and enthusiasm; must be willing to go the extra mile in pursuit of objectives and end results
