Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Operation Services - Claims team in the capacity of:

 

Claims Assistant

 

Have responsibility to batch, sort, control & record Group Life/ Personal Accident Claims.

Input claim information on Microsoft Access database.

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Claims Assistant, you will:

 

  • Receive, date stamp, sort and control batch mail/ claims intended for the Group Life / Personal Accident block of business.
  • Communicate with Group Insurance Administration Department, regarding addition, termination and any other matter relevant to member record.
  • Assist with the filing and Group Life / Personal Accident claims.
  • Assist with Registration of Group Life/ Personal Accident claims and input of claim data into the department’s database.
  • Prepare and send correspondence to clients regarding outstanding information pertaining to incoming claims.
  • Prepare follow up letters for outstanding claims.
  • Prepare summary of claims and refer to the Claim’s Committee.
  • Prepare monthly activity report for submission to the Team Lead.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

  • At least six (6) subjects at the GCE (Ordinary) or CSEC (General Proficiency) level, including English Language and Mathematics or Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent qualification, from a recognized institution.
  • One (1) year working experience in a similar capacity in the Life Insurance industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Good time management and customer relations skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheets and word processing applications.
