Chief Executive Officer

Our client is seeking to engage a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide strategic leadership and direction and work with the Board of Directors to execute and fulfil the mandate of the company.

The Company and the Position

Our client is a leading organisation in the Credit Union sector and is seeking to engage a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organisation. The CEO will provide strategic leadership and direction for the company, work with the Board of Directors to execute and fulfil the mandate of the company and build a strong, stable and financially viable services organisation that provides outstanding customer service for members. The CEO will also develop and lead a competent management team that creates an enabling work environment for employees and a high-performance culture throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities include

1. In conjunction with the Board of Directors, determine and develop the strategic direction for PSCU.
2. Oversee the implementation of the strategic plan through the establishment of organisation performance metrics and the development of a framework for continuous forecasting, cost reporting and resource management.
3. Develop and implement performance measures for management and employees and evaluate performance against goals periodically. 
4. Implement and ensure the maintenance of consistent and rigorous processes for constructing and monitoring capital and revenue budgets to support strategic objectives and policies.
5. Establish and maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard the assets of PSCU and maintain safety and soundness of the Credit Union
6. Lead the creation and sustainability of an organisation culture that emphasizes high performance, excellent member service, employee development and principles that embody the core values of the organisation.
7. Advise on the financial and investment functions of the company to meet the requirements of the relevant Laws and Regulations and the Credit Union's financial goals.
8. Establish effective and efficient systems for the collection and recovery efforts of delinquent accounts.
9. Develop and implement corporate governance systems that ensure openness, integrity and accountability in all aspects of financial management and reporting.
10. Develop and implement policies and procedures for treasury management, investments and the associated risks to achieve annual Goals and Objectives.
11. Ensure that the marketing strategies are designed to identify members’ needs, meet their needs and promote and sustain the PSCU brand to the widest possible audience.
12. Ensure that the interaction with members is aligned with the core values of PSCU and that members are served consistently, effectively and efficiently
13. and material resources are effectively sourced and allocated.
14. Establish the annual workforce plan and training and development needs of employees to facilitate the fulfilment of organisation goals.

Qualifications and Experience.

• First Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field of study.
• MBA in Business Administration, Finance Specialization would be an asset.
• In-depth knowledge of Credit Union Legislation and Regulations.
• Minimum ten (10) years' work experience in a similar environment including (5) years at a senior management level.

A suitable combination of qualifications and training would also be considered.
