About the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE):

The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE), established in 1969, is a leading financial market in the Caribbean, providing a platform for companies to raise capital and investors to participate in economic growth. With 105 listed companies, the JSE boasts a market capitalization of US$12.58B as of 30 September 2024. It operates various markets, including the Main Market, Junior Market, US Denominated Market, Bond Market, and Private Market. The CEO has oversight for the Jamaica Central Securities Depository (JCSD) and the JSE e-Campus. 

About the Role:

The CEO has the following key responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a strategic plan aligned with the JSE's mission and vision, driving growth, innovation, and operational excellence and covering the stock exchange and its subsidiaries. 
• Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, manage resources, ensure regulatory compliance, and monitor market trends.
• Financial Performance: Drive revenue growth and profitability, set and manage budgets, and ensure financial reporting and compliance.
• Regulatory, Legal and Compliance: Oversight for the Regulatory and Market Operations Division and legal framework.
• Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain relationships with listed companies, investors, brokers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation, explore emerging technologies, and position the JSE as a leader in the financial markets.
• Talent Optimization: Align teams, develop capability and retain talent while fostering high employee engagement and performance.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• Min. of 10 years’ progressive leadership experience in financial services preferably in capital markets or stock exchanges and must include proven experience at the CEO level.
• Deep understanding of securities laws, regulations, and market trends/technologies.
• Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and innovation mindset.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead organizational change and build relationships with stakeholders.
