The Role

As the Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team responsible for the financial reporting and general ledger management within our organization.

Responsibilities Include:

• Coordinating the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and financial planning. 
• Commercial and operational support to drive performance improvements. 
• Coordinating the production of the monthly management accounts with detailed analysis and commentary around any variances. 
• Ensuring that P&L and balance sheet schedules are prepared monthly within the specified timelines. 
• Providing analysis and insight into the performance of the business and constantly assessing risk and reward. 
• Supervising junior and senior accountants including upskilling where required and proposing necessary development. 
• Providing leadership in the execution of annual audits and tax compliance. 
• Ensuring processes and systems are continuously improved, in alignment with business objectives. 
• Improving financial data quality and accessibility to create, maintain and promote a data driven culture. 
• Involvement in special projects as required.

• Excellent communication skills with proven stakeholder engagement skills. 
• Ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative and drive under tight deadlines.
• A minimum of five years’ experience as a senior accountant.
• First degree in Accounting/Management and successful completion of ACCA Level 3 or CPA.
• A master’s degree would be an asset.
