Job Summary:

The Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high-quality food presentation and taste. They oversee kitchen operations, manage kitchen staff, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. The Chef is also responsible for menu planning, ingredient selection, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation and Cooking:

    • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards for a canteen located in a Prominent Manufacturing Company.

    • Ensure all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and served in a timely manner.

  2. Kitchen Management:

    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, assistants, etc.

    • Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation.

    • Monitor kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency.

  3. Menu Planning:

    • Develop and update menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

    • Collaborate with restaurant management to create special event menus and promotions.

    • Cost and price menu items to ensure profitability.

  4. Quality Control:

    • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.

    • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.

    • Implement and maintain food safety and hygiene practices.

  5. Inventory Management:

    • Order and manage inventory of ingredients, supplies, and equipment.

    • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and monitor stock to prevent shortages or excess.

    • Work with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.

  6. Customer Interaction:

    • Interact with customers to receive feedback and accommodate special dietary requests.

    • Ensure a positive dining experience by addressing any customer concerns or complaints.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen.

  • Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Creativity and a passion for culinary arts.

  • Candidates should be prepared to provide professional references upon request.

 

Chef Assistant

Job Summary:

The Chef Assistant supports the Chef in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management tasks. They help maintain a clean and organized kitchen, assist with inventory management, and ensure adherence to safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation:

    • Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking as desired.

    • Prepare basic dishes and assist in the cooking process under the Chef’s supervision.

  2. Kitchen Maintenance:

    • Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.

    • Sanitize workstations and ensure all kitchen areas are free from hazards.

    • Dispose of waste properly and follow recycling protocols.

  3. Inventory Support:

    • Assist in monitoring and managing kitchen inventory.

    • Help with receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies.

    • Ensure that ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and rotated.

  4. Quality Control:

    • Follow food safety and hygiene practices to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness.

    • Report any issues or concerns to the Chef.

  5. Support Tasks:

    • Assist the Chef with any additional tasks as needed.

    • Provide support during busy periods to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

    • Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent Culinary Training. 

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
