Contract:                                6 Months

Salary:                                    $562.50 Per Hour 

Hours:                                    40 Hours per week (Minimum)

Reports to:                             Kitchen Supervisor & Operations Manager

Brief Description

The chef’s primary responsibility is to prepare high quality meals in accordance with our menu while ensuring efficient service. Maintaining consistency and preparing items in a timely manner plays a significant role in ensuring guests are satisfied with their orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS: 

• Prepare and cook meals adhering to Genba recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation in accordance with restaurant expectations.
• Adhere to food safety regulations, including proper sanitation, food handling, and cleanliness.
• Communicate effectively with FOH staff regarding orders, specials, out of stock items, and customer allergens.

• Perform daily shift duties including prepping ingredients, preparing sauces and condiments, etc.
• Ensure all surfaces, machinery & equipment, and work areas/stations are cleaned daily.
• Ensure all food items are properly labelled, dated, and stored.
• Communicate with inventory personnel regarding stocking of kitchen items.
• Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

• High school diploma.
• Previous work experience as a Chef (minimum 2 years).
• Food certification or qualification from a reputable institution.
• Food Handler’s permit. 
• Team player and ability to work well with others.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. 
• Effective communication skills. 
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
