Checkpoint Personnel play a critical role in ensuring accurate and secure movement of inventory in and out of Dansteel Limited. This position requires verifying product integrity, quantity, and proper documentation to support customer satisfaction and inventory control.

Job Overview:

Checkpoint Personnel play a critical role in ensuring accurate and secure movement of inventory in and out of Dansteel Limited. This position is divided into Inside and Outside roles, each responsible for verifying product integrity, quantity, and proper documentation to support customer satisfaction and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities:

Inside Checkpoint Duties:

• Cross-check customer receipts against items being taken out of the store.
• Verify that the number, type, and description of goods match the bill/invoice.
• Flag any discrepancies and notify the Store Supervisor immediately.
• Ensure all items are properly recorded before leaving the store floor.
• Prevent unauthorized removal of stock.
• Cooperate with sales and store staff to resolve issues quickly and professionally.

Outside Checkpoint Duties:

• Measure and confirm that structural/building materials (e.g., steel, lumber, etc.) match the dimensions and specifications on the invoice.
• Count and verify the quantity of items being loaded for delivery or customer pickup.
• Ensure customers receive the correct materials in full as per the invoice.
• Monitor loading activities to prevent loss, damage, or substitution of items.
• Report any mismatch, shortage, or irregularity to management immediately.
• Maintain a record of verified deliveries and sign-off logs for each transaction.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to read and interpret invoices and delivery documents.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically able to move around the store yard and measure long or heavy materials.
• Honest, reliable, and committed to enforcing company protocols.
• Previous experience in a hardware or construction supply environment is an asset.

Working Conditions:

Inside Checkpoint: Mostly indoor; standing and checking customer purchases.

Outside Checkpoint: Outdoor yard environment; exposure to sun, dust, and physical tasks like measuring and inspecting materials.
