Department:              HR & Corporate Services – General Administration Unit

Reports to:                 Administrative Officer II or designate

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Operates a light motor vehicle to transport persons and/or materials as directed.
  2. Collects, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail, cables, telegrams, stationery, packages and other materials and makes appropriate entries in register when required.
  3. Collects money from customers on delivery of goods and issues receipts or makes deposits of money in the bank as directed.
  4. Cleans vehicles, checks on oil, gasoline, water and tyres, makes minor operating repairs, changes tyres and reports need for major repairs.
  5. Maintains record of mileage done, the gasoline and oil used and any unusual performance of the vehicle.
  6. Performs related work as may be required.

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Knowledge of the basic principles of automotive operations sufficient to detect defects in operation.
  • Skill in the safe operation of an automobile.
  • Ability to understand simple oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform simple clerical tasks.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

 

Minimum Experience and Training:

           

Experience in the operation of a motor vehicle and training as evidenced by a Primary School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent.

 

Necessary Special Requirement:

 

The possession of a Trinidad and Tobago Driving Permit with endorsement for private car or light goods vehicle.
