JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Channel manager, preferrable from western parishes to join our team at Berger Paints Jamaica Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth through our partner channels, managing relationships with key distributors, and ensuring optimal sales performance. You will play a critical role in developing and executing channel strategies to increase revenue and market share.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Achieve monthly sales and financial KPIs, contributing to overall targets and market growth.
  • Develop, train, and supervise the Sales Team.
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with channel partners and distributors.
  • Utilize new technologies to enhance team performance and effectiveness.
  • Set targets, performance plans, and standards for sales representatives.
  • Support, counsel, and manage underperforming team members.
  • Develop monthly and annual sales plans aligned with the overall objectives.
  • Implement demand and forecasting strategies to achieve efficient inventory turnover (minimum 6 inventory turns per year).
  • Develop proactive strategies to retain and grow customer revenue.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the construction sector through differentiated product offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team to refine long- and medium-term plans for company growth.
  • Present and implement local and regional sales strategies to meet company objectives.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Department to develop initiatives that support brand growth.
  • Provide fact-based analytical data to support sales, budget, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Regularly monitor competition and market trends.
  • Motivate the team through the development of incentive plans.
  • Participate in product development initiatives.
  • Implement strategies to effectively manage customer accounts in collaboration with the Sector Technical Sales Manager.
  • Set performance standards and KPIs, and conduct regular performance assessments for direct reports.
  • Promote safety awareness and contribute to the development of a safety culture within the company.
  • Manage customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with the Customer Experience Manager to improve customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in sales management within the construction or technical sectors.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Experience with demand planning, inventory management, and sales forecasting.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in using technology to improve sales performance.
