The Certified Operator facilitates the continuous production of approved quality products during the Production Cycle. The job holder continuously monitors the Production Line to detect machine abnormalities, product quality defects and performs minor troubleshooting to machinery to achieve high machine efficiency. He/ She ensures man, machine and product safety is maintained through adherence to established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Health and Safety policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
Liaise with the supervisor to obtain the Production schedule for the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) before the start or during production week.
Arrive at the line to start up at least 60 minutes prior to the start of the shift to conduct an overall inspection of machine, sanitization of line and data which includes status of machine, line and any repairs done over scheduled downtime.
Start up the Line and complete the Start Up checklist confirming machine parameters, physical parts and recipe is in place for the scheduled SKU and immediately notify the Supervisor if there are any non-conformances.
Verify that the raw materials placed by the Line for the production run are correct, sufficient, and meet quality standard and notify Supervisor of any shortages or variances.
Load raw materials onto the machine before startup and replenish materials when needed to maintain the production run.
Monitor and verify that the finished products meet production and quality standards in keeping with SOPs and immediately stop the line and notify the Supervisor of any non-conformances.
Monitor the line to ensure machine efficiency levels are maintained and meets set standards.
Alert the Supervisor and Maintenance team using approved communication methods, of any machine malfunctions and abnormalities.
Identify and separate bad quality or defective products, tagged items and remove from line as specified in SOP.
Requirements:
5 CXC O Levels and / MIC Journeyman Training or equivalent.
Certification in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering would be considered and asset.
Must be able to work shifts (6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm & 10pm to 6am).
