JOB SUMMARY:

The position exists to ensure the custody, security, and proper deposit of all company funds received, while also supporting Accounts Payable activities through the timely and accurate preparation of cheques.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive payments by cash, cheque, credit card, debit card, or direct deposit from walk-in customers and through the credit department.
• Ensure the accurate posting of receipts for amounts collected in customers’ accounts.
• Ensure the accurate preparation of receipts for funds received from approved sources.
• Record all amounts collected on collection sheets.
• Prepare lodgments for bank deposits on a daily basis.
• Ensure the security of funds collected by securing the work area and making timely vault deposits.
• Update payments in customers’ accounts daily (entering receipts).
• Ensure the disbursement and reimbursement of petty cash.
• Settle commissary returns from sales against invoices.
• Collect cash from internal and walk-in customers, ensuring accurate receipt and processing.
• File daily lodgment sheets.
• Facilitate payables activity through the timely preparation of cheques upon request.

 MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate Degree in Business/ Five (5) CXC Subjects to include Accounting and other Business Subjects.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

• Computer Literacy, Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Good Time Management and Organizational Skills.
