The incumbent is expected to support the collection efforts of Beacon Insurance through the effective and efficient management of the Accounts Receivable portfolio. In addition to providing cash support for the effective and efficient management of the Beacon’s accounting activities.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Processing of receipts and deposits in accordance with cash collection procedures.
  • Preparation of Payment vouchers, cheques and disbursements of cheques – Operational Expenses.
  • Filing of all finance related documents – receipts, deposit slips and vouchers.
  • Process online transactions via internet to have payments processed by head office.
  • Preparation of Night Deposit.
  • Disbursement and reconciliation of Petty Cash.
  • Communicate with clients to follow up on outstanding balances – Direct & Brokers (Local).
  • To collate and allocate premiums from broker remittances received.
  • To investigate and prepare I-90 journals and receipts to assigned brokers.
  • To provide weekly reports of all unallocated cash items and premium queries.
  • Maintain proper Accounts Receivables records originating from core applications including the allocation of receipts.
  • To import, check, distribute and mail/email Accounts Receivables statements to assigned brokers/branches/Agents/Sales Representative.
  • To monitor all overdue accounts and request N.O.C.’s in accordance with the company’s approved credit guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Service Representatives.
  • Ensuring risks are recorded accurately and reflect at all times the correct premiums, commissions and taxes.
KEY JOB-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: 
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of financial transactions and how it is applied on a day to day basis.
  • Basic knowledge and understanting of financial reports such as statements and understanding of same.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the set of programs which is required for the day to day operations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum five (5) CXC passes, including Math and English. 
  • Must be at least an intermediate level in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Two (2) years Accounting/Finance experience. A minimum of one (1) year insurance industry would be an asset.
  • Pursuing FIA or Equivalent
This position is based at Beacon's St. Lucia's office.
