Cardiovascular Technician Trainee (Graduate Intern)

Our medical institution is seeking a graduate intern for our Cardiology Department to assist in performing diagnostic procedures and completing all relevant reports.

1. Assists in preparing and screening patients for procedures and assists in explaining steps in process to obtain cooperation and reassures patients.

2. Assists in setting up equipment for procedures and monitoring activity.

3. Assists patients into position to have diagnostics conducted or to begin therapy and provides wheelchair assistance.

4. Assists in monitoring patient-tolerance during procedures.

5. Assists in alerting senior nursing personnel to instrument readings outside normal ranges during procedures.

6. Assists in performing procedures such as, but not limited to, spirometry tests, bone density scans, EECPs, PVR studies, 24hr BP and Holter monitors, stress testing etc.

7. Assists in overseeing the movement of equipment for procedures e.g. vividl.

8. Assists in preparing diagnostic reports for interpretation by the doctor.

9. Assists in cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment and maintaining stock of supplies.

10. Assists in answering the telephone/intercom and providing information or relaying messages between patients and medical staff.

11. Performs related work as directed by the appropriate Authority.

Requirements:

1. BSc. or BASc. in Biomedical Engineering (Recent Graduate)

2. Five (5) CSEC passes including Biology, Chemistry and Physics

3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

4. Recent Police Certificate of Character (within the last 6 months)
