CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

The project manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner and within budget. The project manager plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way. This is all done within the confines of a company's goals and vision. The project manager is needed specifically for construction projects. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Project schedules as it pertains to time, cost and information required from the relevant sources
  • Prepare Proper Documentation and Drawings for Pricing and Construction
  • Oversee and provide direction to all general contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Liaise between engineers, architects and any others working on the project.
  • Deal with all adjustments and variations during Construction
  • Communicate with all persons involved to ensure all tasks are in a sequential order.
  • Must be able to proactively identify, track and mitigate construction issues
  • Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes
  • Work with Engineers, MEP consultant, architect etc. to determine the specifications of the project and ensure construction compliance
  • Hire competent contractors and workers and assign responsibility
  • Strategically plan all scope of works / tasks to ensure timelines are achieved
  • Ascertain all resources (Equipment, Manpower and Materials) ensuring cost does not exceed the project allowances for each resource.
  • Monitoring of all materials ensuring stock is replenished in a timely manner to avoid shortage of material.
  • Prepare detailed reports and evaluate overall progress as well as contractor progress.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety standards are in accordance with the OSH Act and report all incidents and accidents.
  • Establish costings and pay rates
  • Ensure Quality of work is of the best standard
  • The ability to plan, implement and hand over multiple projects.
  • Perform any other related duties as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-7 Years experience as a Construction Project Manager
  • Excellent negotiation and Communication skill
  • Team player with strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Knowledgeable of MS office
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of materials management, project management and construction procedures
  • Experienced in Electrical, Plumbing, Air-condition systems
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field. 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • An appreciation of the basic concepts of risk management in an operational environment.
  • Ability to interact at different levels in and outside the organization, keep good relationships and influence senior level staff and customers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proactive, independent work approach and a high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly developed skills and demonstrated capacity developing accountability strategies and mechanisms, including implementation and training in accountability principles and practice.
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated ability of principles and practices related to professionally managing confidential information.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively in a multi-dimensional environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Exemplify creative problem-solving abilities
