The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Finance function and implementing the strategy and direction for the function. In addition, the role shall identify and implement systems, polices and processes for the Finance function

Reports to: General Manager

Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Finance function and implementing the strategy and direction for the function.  In addition, the role shall identify and implement systems, polices and processes for the Finance function which will improve financial monitoring, risk management, accountability and growth across the company.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform financial management duties, including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the company.
  • Oversee the operations and development of the company’s finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
  • Develop a comprehensive work program to ensure that the responsibilities of the Finance departments are effectively carried out, to include:

i) account reconciliations,

ii) compliance with tax and financial reporting standards

iii) cash flow forecasting

iv) accurate documentation and storage of the company’s financial status and forecasts.

v) payroll processing

vi) plan and coordinate annual financial audits

  • Advise colleagues, executive management, and the Board of Directors on decisions related to the company’s finances.
  • Execute the strategic planning and implementation process
  • To establish and maintain a financial risk & compliance management framework for the company
  • Provide effective leadership to the Finance team to include communication, engagement, performance management, professional development, and capacity building.

NORMAL HOURS OF WORK         

8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of a Masters degree in Finance, Accounting or other related field.
  • Professional finance and accounting designations such as: ACCA, CPA, or CFA.
  • Minimum of at least five (5) years’ experience in the financial field.
  • Proven success as CFO or relevant role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong mentoring and coaching experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Accounting Software, etc).
  • Knowledge of Credit Card Industry will be an asset.
  • Good judgment and performs at a high level of integrity and credibility. Must be committed to the organization’s mission and core values.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks to deadlines and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to compile and analyse data to identify trends for decision making purposes.
  • A strategic mindset and vision for financial success.

 

Salary

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
