Seeking a skilled CCTV / Alarms Technician with expertise in IP-based security and alarm systems. Duties include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting CCTV, alarms, and access control. Must have experience with IP cameras, NVRs, alarm panels, and cloud-based monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain IP-based CCTV systems, alarm systems, and access control devices.

  • Perform network configurations, including IP addressing, port forwarding, and VLAN setups for security equipment.

  • Conduct site assessments to determine optimal camera placement and alarm system layouts.

  • Install and terminate cabling (Ethernet, fiber optics, and low-voltage wiring).

  • Configure and troubleshoot Network Video Recorders (NVRs), alarm control panels, and cloud-based surveillance systems.

  • Perform routine system checks, firmware updates, and preventive maintenance.

  • Diagnose and repair faults in cameras, alarm panels, sirens, motion detectors, and related equipment.

  • Work with IT teams to integrate security and alarm systems into existing network infrastructures.

  • Maintain logs of system installations, service calls, and repairs.

  • Provide training and technical support to clients and end-users on system operation.

  • Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and local regulations.

  • Respond to emergency service requests and be available for on-call support when required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in installing and maintaining IP-based CCTV and alarm systems.

  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VLANs.

  • Familiarity with brands such as Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Bosch, Honeywell, DSC, and Paradox alarm systems.

  • Experience with remote monitoring software, mobile applications, and cloud-based security platforms.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

  • Experience with PoE (Power over Ethernet) and fiber-optic networking is a plus.

  • Knowledge of alarm panel programming, intrusion detection, motion sensors, and fire alarm systems.

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCTV installation certification, or manufacturer-specific training are a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Valid driver’s license, ability to drive manual transmission, and must have a reliable work vehicle.

  • Must be flexible with working hours, including weekends and after-hours emergency calls.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in various environmental conditions.

  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
