Buyer

The buyer researches vendors of the products and negotiate contracts to find the best rate for the company. The buyer also follows up to ensure proper delivery of the orders.

Position Profile - Buyer

The Buyer is responsible for globally sourcing  all assigned materials in the most cost-effective manner without compromising the quality, quantity, or timelines of customers (internal/external) by maintaining relationships with current suppliers and developing relationships with new ones.

Main Accountabilities

• Identify and recommend new best in class suppliers while maintaining relationships with current ones
• Evaluate new and existing suppliers based on technical, financial, commercial and environment capabilities
• Monitor on hand inventory in accordance with the purchasing cycle and required carrying/holding stock levels
• Build professional relationships with internal and external shareholders to improve the company’s position in the market
• Work with the Procurement Manager to negotiate supply contracts
• Advise the organization of the best purchase decisions based on data from all available resources to reduce stock overages and lead times
• Establish a robust vendor relationship management program to track supplier performance
• Partner with the Marketing Department for new product launches
• Comply with all HSE policies and procedures to reduce the occurrence of accidents and incidents
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the line Manager.

Profile of Position Holder

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 2 years related experience in a similar position in the FMCG industry
• Advanced Excel Skills are required
• Strong negotiation skills
• Very strong analytics skills
