to fill the position of:

 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

The successful candidate will be responsible for new business growth of all loan products, utilizing various lead generation and sales prospecting efforts to produce qualified leads.  The Business Development Officer will be responsible for providing support in the development and execution of an aggressive marketing programme for all branches of the Credit Union.  The incumbent will be required to do island wide travel to perform job functions and other official duties.

 

OTHER MAJOR FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with the development of the annual Sales/Marketing Plan and Budget ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the Credit Union to include active participation in the planning and execution of marketing programmes and campaign activities.
  • Create sales presentations on the Credit Union’s products and services to members and prospects at various partner companies and other institutions.
  • Responsible for planning and executing all major events of the Credit Union (eg. Annual General Meeting, Members’ Appreciation Day, etc.).
  • Coordinate monthly location visits at the various partner companies to ensure visibility and facilitate member engagement and re-engagement.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management Studies or equivalent from an accredited training institution.
  • Three (3) years sales experience in the field of Business Development, Sales and/or Marketing, preferably in a financial (Commercial/Credit Union) institution; Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or Media industry.
  • Training in Sales.
  • Experience working in a public relations environment would be an asset.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Sound knowledge of the Credit Union’s products and services.
  • Knowledge of the Acts and Regulations governing the Credit Union (e.g. Co-operative and Friendly Societies Act, Proceeds of Crime Act, Banking Act)
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation, sales and marketing skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, and Desktop Publisher.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, honesty and confidentiality.
