Overview: Our client is one of the longest established distribution organizations based in Barbados. Due to growth they are seeking a proven Food & Beverages Business Development Manager to oversee the day to day operations and development of certain lines of business and ensure continued growth and success of the company.

The successful candidate will be working closely with team members, both internal and external, business partners (suppliers), existing customers and potential new clients, and monitoring market trends and new opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build Strong Relationships with Key Accounts Senior personnel as part of the drive to maximize sales. 
  • Assists with the development of sales and marketing strategies for the company’s Key Accounts and focuses on implementation and execution of same.
  • Investigates and responds to market or customer demands, complaints or problems to ensure the achievement of established sales and marketing objectives. 
  • Conducts frequent customer visits to ensure the effectiveness of services rendered by Key Account personnel and to identify, investigate and initiate corrective action based on issues adversely affecting sales performance. 
  • Review the Accounts Receivables Aging Report on a regular basis to inform or required follow up action.
  • Attract new clients by innovating and overseeing the sales process for the business
  • Identify and manage company risks that might prevent growth
  • Preparing and delivering pitches and presentations to potential new clients
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and offer solutions to their problems.
  • Create positive, long-lasting relationships with current and potential new clients
  • Developing and presenting proposals customized for each client’s specific needs
  • Owning the sales lifecycle from prospecting to implementation.
  • Actively support Sales and Office administration functions with ordering, processing import documentation, invoicing and deliveries when necessary.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bsc. In a Business-related discipline.
  • Experience in the food industry, with a sale and / or product management background serving retail and food service markets.
  • Must be self-motivated, hands-on, practical individual always able to take initiative.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365.
  • Hold a current Driving License.
