The Business Development Executive is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and relationship management strategies that align with bank's business objectives.

ROLE & CORE FUNCTONS

The Business Development Executive is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and relationship management strategies that align with bank's business objectives. This includes driving revenue growth, expanding the client portfolio, and ensuring strict adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and service standards.

With a strong focus on deposit growth and client satisfaction, the incumbent cultivates long-term relationships by delivering tailored financial solutions and proactive portfolio management. This role also plays a key part in leading sales initiatives, identifying new business opportunities, and enhancing the overall client experience through strategic engagement and exceptional service delivery.

 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Acquisition & Portfolio Growth

  • Actively prospect and acquire new clients by leveraging relationships with existing centres of influence
  • Retain and expand the existing client portfolio by proactively conducting portfolio reviews and presenting tailored proposals
  • Identify referral opportunities and collaborate with internal partners to provide comprehensive financial solutions
  • Serve as trusted advisor, offering guidance on banking products and other financial services to support clients in achieving their financial goals

Sales & Business Development

  • Consistently execute sales activities, including prospecting calls, sales appointments, and portfolio reviews, in alignment with established targets.
  • Assist the AVP with business development and sales initiatives to achieve the bank’s revenue goals.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on CTMB products and services to attract new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to cross-sell relevant financial products and services
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the client portfolio and contribute to revenue generation

Client Experience & Service Excellence

  • Deliver a superior customer experience across all communication channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Respond to client queries, requests, and complaints in accordance with the company’s Service Delivery Standards.
  • Provide timely reinvestment options for upcoming maturities to ensure continuity and maximize returns for clients.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of client transactions while maintaining the highest service standards

Portfolio & Risk Management

  • Proactively assess client portfolios to recommend suitable financial solutions that align with their needs and risk profiles.
  • Conduct appropriate KYC due diligence and enhanced due diligence in compliance with regulatory and internal standards before onboarding clients.
  • Ensure timely action and response to all compliance unit reports within the required timelines.
  • Prepare and submit Unusual Transaction Reports (UTRs) when necessary.

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Adhere to company policies, standard operating procedures for repurchase agreements, equity management, and unit trusts, as well as regulations governing CTMB’s business.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, investment products, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and offer informed advice.

Operational Efficiency & Reporting

  • Review upcoming maturities and recommend suitable reinvestment options
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and compliance reports to support operational efficiency and decision-making

Perform other duties as assigned to support the business objectives and overall success of the bank.

 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The position requires the following qualifications/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance or related discipline.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar capacity.
  • Industry knowledge and knowledge of CTMB and its products and services.

 

Special Considerations:

Knowledge and understanding of Anti-Money Laundering guidelines, Financial Services Commission's and Bank of Jamaica regulations, market trends, banking, investment products and strategies, and financial statement analysis.
