Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Data & Analytics team in the capacity of:


 Business Analyst (Contract)

 

Act as the intermediary between the business and the Data & Analytics teams, using a deep understanding of business processes and technology to help business partners achieve their desired outcomes.

Work alongside business partners to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs.

 

Location: Kingston

 

As A Business Analyst, you will:

  • Evaluate business processes, document requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, developing and implementing solutions that will improve data quality across the group.
    • Identify business requirements that are necessary to address the needs of the business.
    • Develop models based on requirements gathered.
    • Represent documentation in an easy-to-understand format.
    • Communicate with the necessary stakeholders to gather requirements.
  • Use data modeling practices to analyze your findings and create recommendations for strategic and operational improvements to improve data quality.
  • Maximize value derived from data and analytics by identifying and documenting the nuances of the business processes and operations that impact data quality.
  • Aid efforts to improve business performance through enterprise information solutions and capabilities, such as master data management (MDM), metadata management, analytics, content management, data integration, and related information management or information infrastructure
  • components.
  • Participate in the planning and development of Data Analytics department initiatives.
  • Perform any other related duties assigned from time to time.

 

 

What do you need?

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of two (2) working experience as a business analyst.
  • Broad IT domain experience in that least three of the following areas: application development, enterprise architecture, project management, quality assurance, infrastructure, maintenance and support.
  • Prior experience in the financial industry.
  • Prior working experience implementing data and analytics management programs would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated influence, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models.
  • Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude while paying close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the accounting IFRI17 standard.
  • Familiarity with data science concepts, as well as MDM, business intelligence, and data warehouse design and implementation techniques.
  • Ability to analyze project, program and portfolio needs, as well as determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers.
  • Ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of both traditional Waterfall and Agile/ Lean methodologies.
  • Experience in converting business requirements and functional requirements to use cases, epics, and user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrated ability to quantify resource requirements and measure and communicate proposed project benefits.
  • Strong risk assessment, problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes.
