JN Properties is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the position of Building Custodian. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization and safety of the assigned building.

• Open and close the building on a daily basis, as required.
  
• Check lights on a daily basis to ensure that the switches and bulbs are in good working order. Replace bulbs and diffusers as required and report any electrical problem to the Facility Officer for action to be taken
  
• Check and keep clean garbage areas
  
• Check the standby generator and perform test runs twice weekly
  
• Check and turn on or off air conditioning equipment (if manual operation is required)
  
• Check, repair/ change plumbing fittings and fixtures where possible and report any major plumbing problems to the Facility Officer
  
• Daily inspection of plants, property and equipment (e.g. water pumps, water tanks, elevators, standby generator, bathroom appliances, ACs, UPS and fire detection system ) and advise the supervisor of any faults detected that may affect the safety of staff
  
• Perform minor repairs to any item of furniture and fixture as may be necessary
  
• Notify supervising officer of any repairs and /or issues with regard to the maintenance and  repair of the plant, property and equipment
  
• Keep car park and driveway clean and free from debris
  
• Cut the lawn and apply necessary chemicals to keep away weeds and fungi, ensure that plants are trimmed, pruned and watered and landscape is maintained in a good state as may be necessary.
