Responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Branch, Service Delivery and Member satisfaction strategic objectives; ensuring compliance with the Credit Union regulations, policies and procedures whilst ensuring that any operational risk to the institution is minimized or eliminated.

Major Duties

Contribute to the Organization’s Strategic planning process; paying particular attention to those strategic objectives and initiatives related to Member Relationship Management (MRM).

Annually update individual Job Accountabilities and Performance Targets for all Direct Reports, ensuring alignment to the Credit Union’s Strategic Plan.

Develop, in conjunction with each Direct Report, his/her respective Individual Development Plan on completion of the designated Competency Assessment and Performance Measurement as per the Performance Management System

Constantly review the competency and performance of Direct Reports, providing continuous coaching and implementation of their respective individual development plans.

Lead the Branch’s member engagement process in order to provide on-going assessment of their product needs, commitments and compliance with agreements.

Lead the Branch’s new member acquisition process in order to strengthen the Credit Union’s member base. 

Assist in credit and delinquency management in growing the loan portfolio and to mitigate delinquencies.

Lead, constantly review and update the member needs assessment and financial solution design and delivery processes.

Ensure that an aesthetic and welcoming environment exists at the Branch.

Lead the preparation of the Branch monthly performance report; then attend the monthly meeting to discuss performance, ensuring there are diagnoses and prognoses for any performance variances specifically related to Branch assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of the Credit Union’s Strategy, policies and procedures.
  • In depth knowledge of the Credit Union’s products, systems and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of general co-operative principles and procedures
  • In depth knowledge of the Acts and Regulations governing Credit Unions e.g. Co-operative and Friendly Societies Act, Proceeds of Crime and Terrorism Prevention Acts, Credit Union (Special Provisions) Act and Guidance Notes etc.
  • Sound Knowledge of accounting practices, principles and procedures especially as it relates to the Credit Union environment.
  • Excellent analytical, time management, administrative and problem solving skills.
  • Capacity to organize and prioritize workflow.
  • Ability to evaluate, initiate and make decisions within scope of position.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Leadership Skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work on own Initiative.
  • High level of Integrity, Confidentiality and Professionalism.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.Sc. Degree in Management Studies, Banking & Finance or equivalent qualification from an accredited training institution.
  • Five (5) years related experience in a credit union, commercial or investment bank, with at least two (2) years at the supervisory/junior management level.
  • Formal training in Enterprise/Business Risk Management, an asset.
  • Credit Union experience would be an asset.
