JOB SUMMARY:
The Beverage Plant Technician is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of bottling machinery and equipment used in PET bottle production. This role ensures that the production process runs smoothly, meeting quality and safety standards while minimizing downtime.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain PET bottling machines, including blow molding, filling, capping, and labeling equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting of production machinery to prevent breakdowns and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and hygiene standards throughout the bottling process.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement corrective actions to minimize production interruptions.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repairs.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure all bottled beverages meet regulatory and company standards.
- Monitor and adjust process parameters to optimize machine performance and product quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Train operators and junior technicians on equipment handling and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and standards, implementing safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
- Ensure strict adherence to industry regulations, quality standards, and all company policies, procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in industrial maintenance or mechatronics.
- 5+ years of experience in a beverage manufacturing or bottling plant, preferably working with PET bottle production equipment.
- Strong knowledge of bottling processes, including blow molding, filling, and capping operations.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs, conveyors, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume beverage production facility.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
- Experience with food safety certification programs (e.g., HACCP).
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and ISO standards in food and beverage manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and developing a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
