The University of Medicine and Health Sciences-St. Kitts (UMHS) invites applications for a faculty position in Behavioral Science. Our modern campus is among the best in the Caribbean, equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology and a cloud-based Learning Management System, ensuring an exceptional educational experience for our students.
This faculty member is expected to support the design and delivery of pathology content in an integrated, cross-disciplinary, active learning-based curriculum. Applicants must have a medical degree with outstanding credentials in teaching pathology/pathophysiology in an undergraduate medical education program or in a health professions educational setting in the United States. Applicants must also have training in a formal anatomic and/or clinical pathology residency program and demonstrated scholarship, which can be in any research field. At this time, all faculty appointments in the College of Medicine are non-tenure track. About the Role: As part of our team, you will teach the Behavioral Science course in the second year of our MD program. Faculty members benefit from a collaborative teaching environment that allows time for research and scholarly activities. The academic year consists of three semesters, with teaching responsibilities distributed throughout the year.

Course Description: MBEH 0830 Behavioral Science (5 credits)
This course explores the relationship between psychological factors and human development. Topics include common behavioral issues, culturally competent care, recognition of psychological disturbances, and workshops on clinical problems such as sexual dysfunction and bereavement. Students will develop skills for effective interviewing and empathetic patient interaction, focusing on psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacological interventions.
