Responsibilities:

• Receive payments and present change to customers.
• Function as the host/hostess of the restaurant, greeting guests in a courteous and accommodating manner.
• Document reservations and follow up with customers.
• Manage the register, issue bills, and accept various payment methods.
• Ensure the register is balanced at the end of the shift.
• Clear and settle customer and staff bills.
• Follow all food service health and safety protocols.
• Serve pastries and beverages to guests.
• Assist other restaurant staff when necessary.
• Present menus and provide detailed knowledge and understanding of the menu to guests.
• Make recommendations based on dietary needs and taste preferences.
• Ensure each table is kept clean and dining room items are in place.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, bar staff, and stewards.
• Ensure dine-in and take-out orders are accurately communicated and correct.
• Handle customer complaints or issues calmly and pleasantly, reporting to the supervisor on duty.
• Perform other tasks/duties as assigned by the supervisor or operations manager.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience as a barista or in beverage making.
• Certification in mixology and/or customer service is an asset.
• Exceptional listening and communication skills.
• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
• A polite and engaging personality.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
• Creativity and passion for beverage making.
• Must have an up-to-date Food Handler’s Permit.
