The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing the
operational running and supervision of the bars.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all venues open on time and that they are ready for business.
Ensure excellent front of house service, allocate and support staff throughout the shift to maintain speed of service and cleanliness of venue.
Assist in preparing and serving drinks
Ensure staff meet the standards of the bars, addressing and correcting bad practice where need be.
Maintain back of house and cellars to a high standard.
Address any guest issues and ensure great service.
Complete daily paperwork to ensure the safe running of the venues, and for those standards to be monitored and maintained throughout the shift.
Pre-empt and actively respond to problems that arise.
Ensure all end of day jobs are completed to a high standard, staff are signed off promptly, all back and front of house areas checked and secured and that venues are in excellent order for the next day’s service.
To actively maintain all areas within your remit
To manage the maintenance of all equipment and notify upper management of any issues.
Assist in cash handling procedures as required
Work closely with general manager to develop and improve SOPs on a weekly basis
Give continuous operational feedback to upper management.
Stock & Financial Control:
To follow all Till and Cashing up procedures and ensure all staff are following these correctly.
Detailed check of deliveries for accuracy and quality of product.
Ensuring stock is received and secured in cellars on delivery.
Ensure stock rotation is applied when storing deliveries and that the correct storage method is applied to each product.
Monitor display stock levels throughout the shift to ensure that they are replenished as required.
Record any wastage/breakages
Staff Training
Assist in induction days as required
Provide quality training to bar staff
Schedule refresher training as deemed necessary
Help coach and bring staff through
Brief staff at the beginning of the night and debrief at the end
Offer training workshops with local education establishments where necessary
Health & Safety
Ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained at all times
Monitor required cleaning tasks in accordance with the Bars daily and weekly tasks sheet, ensuring the work has been completed to a high standard.
Ensure the storage areas are kept in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
Ensure any faults or problems with equipment and the venue are reported.
Work in a way that minimizes risks to the health and safety and security of self and others.
Ensure all cleaning products and any other substance that could cause a health risk is used according to the resort’s health and safety procedures
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Training in hospitality or relevant program
At least 5 years’ experience in managerial position in the hospitality industry
At least 5 years’ bartending experience
Experience in Property Management Systems a plus
Microsoft suite versed
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule and be willing to be on call
Must be able to stand/ be on their feet for long hours
PREFERRED SKILLS
Ability to multitask and remain organized, calm, and proactive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to remain motivated and establish the same with the employees
