Work Environment: Hybrid

Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building

In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island

Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area

Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area

Satellite- Workspace is at one of CUC’s satellite locations

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on various BESS equipment and related assets (including but not limited to Inverters, MV (Medium Voltage), HVAC, substations switching & inspections, etc.).
  • Troubleshooting, inspection, testing, and repair of utility-scale power and controls equipment, execute various technical tasks, processes, and procedures, such as: interpret single-line drawings and schematics, troubleshoot BESS installations and configurations, perform electrical testing, troubleshoot control wiring and I/O racks.
  • Assist in authoring and updates of maintenance routine and procedures for CUC BESS.
  • Responsible for site safety by utilizing best practices, building on established Fluence safety culture, and utilizing Fluence safety management systems.
  • Assist in the delivery of orientation and training related to new BESS system(s) and employees.
  • Respond to queries from BESS system operators. 
  • Provide assistance to operations for outage diagnostic.
  • Developing ‘canned’ and custom reports for system users.  
  • Serve on the "On Call" list for BESS system outages.
  • Other duties which may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • Technical Diploma in electrical, electronic, computer systems or Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the maintenance and inspection of Battery Systems and Power Electronic Systems in industrial, utility or data center industries.  
  • Knowledge of Li-Ion batteries, Inverters, Control systems and Components used for the Battery Energy Storage Systems
  • Either currently hold, or able to immediately obtain certifications for OSHA 10 & NFPA 70E
