BAR TENDER

Job brief

We are looking for an enthusiastic bartender to provide exceptional service and an excellent guest drinking experience. 

Responsibilities

Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages (to the recipe specifications) for bar and restaurant patrons, including cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks, while doing so in a prompt and friendly manner.

Interact with customers, take orders and serve, ensuring guest satisfaction

Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations

Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails

Prepare garnishes, mixers, and other ingredients for drinks, ensuring accuracy and consistency in recipes and presentation.

Plan and present bar menu

Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age

Monitor, reorder, restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies

Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience

Comply with all food and beverage regulations

Process transactions using the POS system

Prepare checks for customers & process customer payments

Arrange glasses and bottles into attractive and functional displays

Monitor inventory levels of bar supplies, including alcohol, mixers, and glassware, and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to management.

Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment and working areas, also disposing of waste in accordance with health and safety standards.

Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies

Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift

Cross-train as a Floor Staff team member and be available to fill in that role if required by the business.

Requirements

Resume and proven working experience as a bartender

Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks

Computer literacy

Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
