Continental Baking Company Limited is seeking to recruit an Automotive Technician (Electrical) who will be responsible to inspect, lay out, assemble/rebuild, install, test, troubleshoot, service and repair electrical wiring, electronic circuits, electrical/electronic components, control devices and systems, related to automotive equipment.
Core Functions
- Able to interpret electrical/electronic schematics and blueprints.
- Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles and test electrical/electronic systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
- Inspect, adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems such as fuel, anti-lock brake, computerized suspension, electronic engine control, drive train, emission control, exhaust, cooling and climate control and other electrical/electronic systems, using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair/test equipment.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications.
- Perform any necessary machine work to recondition or modify shafts, commutators and/or other electrical/electronic parts.
- Perform scheduled maintenance service such as inspecting, cleaning, adjusting and repairing electrical/electronic systems.
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
- Assist with writing requisitions for parts or consumables necessary to execute maintenance work.
- Review work orders and execute tasks in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Be able to assist with offsite road rescue.
Minimum Requirements: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Five (5) CXC/GCE Ordinary Level passes including Mathematics and English Language.
- Completion of a four (4) year automotive electrical/electronic technician apprenticeship program OR a combination of over four (4) years of work experience in the trade and high school, college or industry courses in automotive electrical/electronic technology is required.
- Experience in truck or heavy-duty equipment mechanics is an asset.
- Holder of a valid Driver’s Licence – minimum General CMC.
- Detail oriented, excellent human relations, communication, time management, organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Highly professional, ethical and of integrity.
- May be required to work on weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands.
