Continental Baking Company Limited is seeking to recruit an Automotive Technician (Auto-Mechanic) who will be responsible for services of mechanical, automotive, electrical and electronic systems and equipment.

Core Functions

• Inspect motors in operation; road test motor vehicles, inspect and test automotive, mechanical and electrical/electronic systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices, to diagnose and isolate faults.
• Inspect and test automotive mechanical and electrical/electronic units, such as engines, transmissions, drive shafts, axles, suspension, brake and steering systems, to locate faults and malfunctions.
• Inspect, adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive, mechanical and electrical/electronic systems for proper performance.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications.
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work such as oil change, lubrication, brake, suspension and other component inspection and tune ups on automotive mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment.

Minimum Requirements: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Five (5) CXC/GCE Ordinary Level subject passes including Mathematics and English Language.
• Completion of a four (4) year automotive technician apprenticeship programme OR a combination of over four (4) years’ work experience in the trade and high/technical school, college or industry course in automotive technology is required.
• Experience in truck or heavy-duty equipment mechanics is an asset.
• Holder of a valid Driver’s Licence – minimum General CMC.
• Detail oriented, excellent human relations, communication, time management, organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Highly professional, ethical and of integrity.
• May be required to work on weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands.
