GCG is seeking an Automobile Painter responsible for the application of paint whether by brushwork or spray to all fleet vehicles as well as facility and operation equipment. The position supports the implementation and documentation of all Maintenance Policies and HSSE guidelines as well as the GCG Group standards, policies and procedures relating to maintenance of the facilities, fleet, and operation equipment. 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Remove rust, grease, and dirt from work area surfaces.
  • Fill cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface finishes.
  • Masks and protect parts that are not to be painted or coated.
  • Mix paint as well as coating liquids according to specifications to produce desired colors.
  • Paint surfaces using spray gun or brush as appropriate.
  • Inspect painted Ground Service and operation equipment for quality of workmanship, noting runs, and unpainted areas.
  • Maintain tools and workspace in a satisfactory condition to optimize performance.
  • Recommend to the Maintenance Supervisor parts and supplies with appropriate quantities needed to carry out service and repair functions.
  • Recommend to the Maintenance Supervisor actions necessary to maintain efficient equipment operation.
  • Cooperate and assist other personnel in the repair and prepping of Ground Service and other operation equipment.
  • Must act in accordance with the company’s HSSE Policy which states that: All employees shall have awareness and understanding of health and safety hazards and risks that affect our business. The safety and health of every person is a fundamental consideration in every business decision and plan. We shall only undertake operational activity after giving due consideration to the health and safety of our employees and other stakeholders which may be affected by our work activities.
  • Assist the department in any other related functions as needed to meet the goals of the organization.
  • Perform any other maintenance related duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager. 

Qualifications & Skills

  • At least five (5) years of experience working in a maintenance environment.
  • Diploma in Automotive Engineering or equivalent
  • Certification in Automotive Maintenance or equivalent
  • A demonstrated combination of education and training
  • Valid Driver’s license. Defensive Driving an asset.
  • Valid Heavy T license.
  • Basic First Aid
  • Training in Health and Safety
  • MS Office and asset
