PROFILE
The Audio Technician is a key role, assisting the President/CEO and Assistant Production Manager in the Production Department. The department’s purpose is to deliver service excellence to all customers.
Flexibility and pro-activity are crucial aspects of this position that by its nature is varied and challenging.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for amplifying, mixing, recording, syncing, and reproducing sounds and effects for productions and special events.
- Responsible for looking over equipment; checking connections, sound levels and equipment functionality; running sound checks and other tasks.
- Conducting minor repairs and troubleshooting sound equipment, as well as maintaining the work area for other technicians to ensure safety and productivity.
- Regulate volume level and sound quality during recording sessions, using control consoles.
- Set up, test, and adjust recording equipment for recording sessions and live performances.
- Adjust sound quality and volume.
- Run cables, check mikes and setup baseline levels.
- Assign mikes a level to ensure balanced sound.
- Tear down (strike) equipment after event completion.
- Use sound mixing boards to mix and edit tracks; adjust sound quality and volume; run cables, check mikes and setup baseline levels.
- Load and unload equipment
- Properly maintain all equipment. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Cleaning
- Maintenance
- Minor repairs
- Storage
- Security
- Report equipment problems and ensure that required repairs are made.
- Make certain that all equipment is prepared, preparation includes but is not limited to ensuring equipment is cleaned and tested.
- Responsible for making sure setups have been set up professionally and neatly maintaining the standard of the company and the hotel.
